Technical Specifications

Stream high quality sound files:

DiskDriver mini has the ability to stream high quality MP3 files regardless of file size. Your visitors are able to hear MP3 files almost immediately even if the file has not loaded completely.

Automatic buffering sensing:

The application calculates the amount of time required to play the entire MP3 file uninterrupted by network congestion or speed of your visitor's connection. Slower connections or larger files will require more buffering. The application will notify visitors of the amount of seconds before buffering is completed along with a visual aid.

Live audio scrubbing, view stream status, and song duration:

When fast forwarding or rewinding, your visitors will be able to hear audio feedback of the MP3 file. There are two visual indicators that will appear that show how much of the file has streamed as well as how far into the soundtrack they currently are.

Add, delete, and modify files and folders just by FTP:

The application updates by simply uploading new files, deleting files, or in the case of NetActive, renaming your files. There is nothing additional required to update your soundtrack libraries. To add a new album just make a new folder. Try our JukeBoxMaker to see an example of how it can dynamically update.

Create custom mixes on the fly:

In NetActive mode, DiskDriver allows you to make your own custom playlist on the fly by checking off soundtracks in your music library. You can add and delete songs in your playlist while it's playing or can setup a playlist while listening to the songs in your library. At any time you can jump to any song in your playlist or in the entire library by clicking on the title of the song.

Display ID3 song titles tags or filenames and scroll long titles:

Depending on your setup, you have the ability to show song titles either by embedded MP3 ID3 tags or by the actual name of the soundtrack file. If you are in Basic mode, you can embed the ID3 information using one of the free utilities listed. NetActive setups can use any name for the album folders or MP3 files. Long titles can scroll when rolling over the buttons on either side of the title window.

Design album covers for every album:

You can add your own artwork to the DiskDriver interface by creating a folder called "covers" and placing in it 200X200 pixel jpegs labeled "cdrom1.jpg", "cdrom2.jpg", "cdrom3.jpg", etc. Each number represents the corresponding album.

Any name for your files and folders:

If you are a registered user and your server has the ability to directory indexing then you can choose any name for your folders or files and do not need to rename. This is dependant on your server and host provider, please feel free to use our pro application (DiskDriver) to see if the setup will work for you.

Instantly scan through soundtracks in both Basic and NetActive modes:

Jump to any soundtrack even as others are loading. In both Basic and NetActive mode, DiskDriver can detect how many soundtracks and albums you have without having to adjust any configurations.

Multiple master directories from different web pages:

DiskDriver has the ability to have multiple master folders and those folders can be named anything. Each master folder can contain it's own set of albums and soundtracks. You only need one copy of DiskDriver which can be instructed by any webpage which master directory to load, and yes it works on MACs as well.

Specify a particular start soundtrack on each page:

As a registered user you can have any soundtrack in your library be the start soundtrack for any page of your website without having multiple copies of DiskDriver or modifying your soundtrack library. The html page actually serves up the code to pick the particular soundtrack, and yes this works on MACs as well as any other operating system or browser type.
